Breaking Daylight

Have you ever thought to yourself, “I’ll just do this tiny little thing,” and then it somehow catches everyone’s attention?

I did that yesterday.

I’ve been quietly navigating a pretty major life change in the background. Then yesterday, I thought: I’ll just tweak my LinkedIn profile so it’s updated when I’m ready to make my announcement.

Except I forgot that LinkedIn notifies everyone in my network when I make any update to my profile, regardless of how big or small. Whoops! My website’s not even ready. Oi vey!

Oh well. Ready or not, here it is:

I am launching my own business: Daylight Creative, LLC.

Through Daylight Creative, I aim to provide communication strategies, training and creative solutions to help people and organizations convey their stories with clarity, authenticity, warmth and light.

I have so much to say about how this came to be and where I’m going from here. For now, I’ll just sum it up like this:

God is good. So very good. I’m wowed by all the many ways He is working in my life, and I’m leaning fully into wherever He wants to take me.

I am equal parts thrilled and terrified — which is pretty much what faith has always looked like to me.

For those who are wondering, I would also like to clarify something important. I am NOT leaving Barnabas Foundation anytime soon. As announced to our staff earlier this month, I will be reducing my time in the office to about 80 percent in January. They will be posting a position to find the next director of marketing, but I will stay on board for the next several months to help with projects, marketing initiatives, and our annual conference.

I am SO grateful for the wise counsel, prayers and encouragement I’ve received from so many people over the past year or so as I’ve tried to discern where the Holy Spirit is calling. You have been the voice of God to me when I needed it the most. Thank you!

I suppose that’s it for now. I’ll keep you posted as things unfold, so stay tuned!

Next time, I’ll pause for a bit before I hit the edit button on LinkedIn. Or maybe not. #YOLO
