I was reading the Book of Habakkuk, and thought it was, perhaps, an interesting parallel for so many of us today. Unlike other prophets who made proclamations on God’s behalf, Habakkuk boldly approached God with the heart-wrenching questions of humanity.

For the first two hours of our ER visit, Jackson had been surprisingly calm. But as the minutes ticked past midnight, and the more his arm was jostled, his demeanor rapidly deteriorated until he reached hot mess. Which is precisely when the X-ray techs arrived.

Heaven knows, I’m the queen of losing things, and I felt like I’d called on that godly favor far too many times before.  Plus, my mind immediately went to the recent tornado victims. And the typhoon survivors. And the impoverished around the world. In comparison, this was NOTHING. I didn’t want to make a mountain out of a rock.
